Power of Ketu

Ketu, the lord of the natural 8th house in astrology, embodies the forces of death and transformation, often associated with the fierce form of Lord Shiva known as Maha Rudra. The 8th house signifies deep changes and the mysteries of life and death, while the 5th house from it, which is the 12th house (Pisces), represents Ketu's domain—where his ultimate goal of moksha (spiritual liberation) is fulfilled.

Ketu's mission is to guide souls towards moksha, pushing them to become ascetics and detach from worldly desires. He understands that as long as people are entangled in the material world, driven by Rajas (the qualities of passion and activity) represented by Venus and Mercury, they will struggle to achieve their spiritual purpose. Ketu despises the Rajas planets because they are seen as the fundamental components used by Brahma to create life, which distracts souls from the pursuit of spiritual liberation.

Ketu, being headless, symbolizes a lack of reasoning and logic. This means that no amount of mental excuses or justifications can appease him. The only way to pacify Ketu is through the pursuit of higher knowledge and showing respect towards women. Despite his disdain for Rajas, Ketu acknowledges the necessity of Venus because it possesses the ability to purify itself, playing a crucial role in the continuation of life.

Mercury, however, is viewed differently by Ketu. As Mercury is heavily influenced by Rahu, it symbolizes materialism and the race for wealth, which are entirely at odds with Ketu's spiritual objectives. From the perspective of worldly desires, Ketu is considered malefic, but he becomes a benefic force when one turns away from Mercury's materialism and embraces pure love and devotion, as exemplified by Lord Rama.

Interestingly, when Ketu is conjoined with Jupiter, it forms a powerful combination known as Parampara Yoga, which grants the wisdom to learn the sacred Vedic knowledge through traditional lineages. However, when Ketu is with Rajas or Tamas (inert) planets, he manifests his malefic tendencies, disrupting material pursuits to steer the soul towards its ultimate spiritual goal.
